Jacob Bedrossian receives Peter Lax Award

The Scientific Committee of HYP2020 has decided to give its inaugural Peter Lax Award to Jacob Bedrossian. The award has been instituted to honor Lax's seminal contributions to modern theory and computation in the area of hyperbolic conservation laws. This distinction will be awarded to a young researcher (10 years within the PhD) in every future HYP Conference.

Jacob Bedrossian (CSCAMM/Mathematics), whose work focuses on turbulence in fluid mechanics and plasma physics, will be the first awardee of the prize. He will deliver a distinguished plenary lecture at the the Hyp2020 conference in Málaga (Spain).
